- How do I copy and paste text?
One way to copy text is to highlight (or select) the text you wish to copy
by clicking with the mouse at the start of the text and hold the mouse
button down while you move across the text. Once the text is
highlighted (selected) then right click your mouse on the selected text to
load the popup menu. The right mouse click is when you press the button shown below on your mouse.
The popup menu should look something like this:
Move your mouse up or down to select what you need from the popup menu.
For example you can select 'Copy' from the popup menu to Copy the highlighted text
You can also copy the highlighted text by holding down the 'Ctrl' key on your keyboard while also pressing the 'C' key
When you are ready to paste your text, right click your mouse wherever you want to paste your copied text. Then select 'Paste' from the popup menu.
You can also click your mouse wherever you wish to paste the copied text and then press the 'Ctrl' key on your keyboard while also pressing the 'V' key
One other useful function worth mentioning is 'Select All'. This is used to highlight all of the text in a given region such as one of the white text boxes in the bio builder.
To select all of the text within the box, right click your mouse in the box, and choose 'Select All' from the popup menu.
Notice that all of the text will get selected (or highlighted) so you are now ready to copy the text.
You can also click your mouse in the white box and then press the 'Ctrl' key on your keyboard while also pressing the 'A' key to select all of the text within that box.

- How do I upload photos so people can see them?
Before you can share your photos in your bio, you must first upload them to a public server on the world wide web where other people can view them.
A few public servers are
www.shutterfly.com,
www.photobucket.com and
www.snapfish.com.
Any of these will let you upload photos for free to share with friends.
Some even have capabilities to add borders and captions to your images. Once you have uploaded your photos where other people can see them you are ready to
add pictures to your bio.
Note there are
a few other web image hosting sites out there, that will let you upload
photos, but you have to be logged into an account on their site to view the
photos. These websites will not work for hosting bio images, because
they are private and unless the person viewing your bio is logged into an
account with these websites, they will not be able to view your image and
will see a red x in place of your image. A few private web hosting
sites to avoid for hosting bio images include yahoo and kodak image gallery.

- How do I know what my Bio will look like?
There is a 'Preview Bio' Button that will open a new window displaying your bio
(if you do not have a popup blocker) and will also display a preview of your bio in the big empty
white space region shown below (in case you do have a popup blocker). If you make any edits
to your bio, you will need to click the 'Generate Bio Code' Button before the 'Preview Bio'
Button will be able to display your changes.
Note: adding additional html code can display strange things in the
preview especially in the non-pop-up version. We strongly recommend
you disable your pop-up blockers whenever previewing your bio for more
accurate results.

- How do I save my data to avoid re-typing everything when I want to edit my Bio again?
Once you have Generated and Previewed your Bio and like what you see,
you can save all of the data used to create your bio (called Bio Builder
Data) and send it to yourself in an email directly from the Bio Builder.
Note that if your Bio Builder Data
gets too big it could get split between multiple emails.
Warning: the Bio
Builder Data Saved in your email is NOT the same thing as the HTML code you paste into your bio.

and specify which format you prefer to read your email (html or plain text) and then click
"Save and Send My Data". Note, many email systems have
spam/junk mail filters and it's common for the filters to block emails from
the bio tools by mistake. To make sure that your email account will
deliver your saved data, please follow

- Help I'm on a Mac and I don't have a Control (Ctrl) key or a
Right Mouse Button?
For many of the instructions you may be asked to copy and paste text by
using the 'Ctrl' key in combination with another key as described here:
How to Copy and Paste. However Mac's do not have a Control (Ctrl) key.
The good news is that the 'Apple' key on a Mac is equivalent to the 'Ctrl' key on a PC, so when instructed
to copy text by holding down the 'Ctrl' key and the 'C' key at the same time, you can simply press and
hold your 'Apple' key and while pressing the 'C' key and you will still be able to copy the text.
Another common problem for Mac users is the lack of a right mouse button. Right mouse buttons are
used when finding the URL for an image as described here:
How do I add pictures to my bio? Instead of right clicking on the image to get
a popup menu like this:

You can press the 'Apple' button on your keyboard while you click on the image to get the Mac equivalent popup menu.
Be warned the popup menu may have different options in the browser on your Mac than what is shown above.
If you don't have the option to view the image properties, see if you have an option to 'Open image in a new window'.
If you choose to open the image in a new window, the image URL will be displayed
in the address bar at the top of the new browser window containing the image.
Copy the image URL from the address bar and paste it into one of the image URL blanks in
the bio builder, and your done! It's a little trickier on a Mac, but certainly still possible :)
